Makers of each weapons in parentheses.
M1 Garand (Custom made by 2nd Bat or others. Possible to convert yourself one) M1A1 Thompson (Cybergun or Tokyo Marui) M1903 Springfield (A1, A3, or A4 Variant from Mauro Gun Works) M1918 Browning B.A.R. (V.F.C.)
(Note Marushin does make M1 Garand and M2 Carbine, but they are very hard to maintain and a very poor option for skirmishing.)

You buy a converstion kit, or send it to someone who can convert it for you. You can only do this with electric ones though, or it's only worth it to convert it if it is electric.

Right now I'm making my own Springfield. It will be the A1 Variant. The Springfields you listed are made by Tommygunner on the WW2aa, right?

Yes they are, but any accurate Springfield will do.

Which would be more authentic for my impression, A1 or A3. I haven't ordered the original parts yet, so it's not to late to chance my mind. But I think the A1 would be less work for me.

Either one works.

A1 it is! I want to do both variations, but my next conversion will be an M1 Garand, followed by a Winchester M12.

You bring up a good point ;D None of those conversions will be soon. I just got the base rifles for the Springfield yesterday, and have decided to switch to an A3.

Hopefully I will be able to buy some of the parts this weekend. But, with school now, the conversion is going slower than expected.

Hey, how would you guys feel about me flip-flopping between the role of a regular rifleman, and a sniper? I am making an 03A3 springfield, so I could just mount a period scope on it. (i'm pretty sure it was done) It would be a more functional substitute to the 03A4

Okay, I just had a discussion over at the WW2AA, and I have learned that it is historically inaccurate to have a scope mounted on an 03A3. So, I am stuck on the decision to make an A3 or an A4. Which would you guys rather see?

I personally like A4s

So, would it be fine for me to use a Weaver K2.5 scope on the A4? It looks like this:

I would research what scopes were used and pick one that was either used or one that looks like one that was.

Well I know that the most common was the Weaver 330C, but thats just a little out of my price range. I'll do some more looking, to see if I can find a good price on a vintage 330.

Oh, and the K2.5 is also the same style scope used by Jackson in SPR. Pleas don't think I get my facts from movies, I'm just making a notation. I think I'll probably go with the K2.5. Does anyone know the history of that scope?

As long as it looks period I suppose it should do, scopes do cost some $$$.
